This project involves a change of use from enterprise centre to a Solicitor’s Office, the building is located on 17 Rathfarnham Road, Terenure, Dublin. The Solicitor’s Office provides service for clients in need with legal advice and representation on all legal matters. They provide Civil Service to the public sector generally. The proposal include a recreational space and café for clients and solicitors to use. The building has been designed with a sustainability and accessibility approach, considering access for people of all ages, sizes, and abilities or disabilities people. The concept is “APPRICITY”, meaning feeling the warmth of the sun. As the building was built to use it as a theatre there is a lack of natural lighting in the existing building. The proposal improves the natural lighting and air quality. Considerations are taken into meet acoustic requirements, and all internal structures are constructed using eco-materials while being influenced by the old building's design.
