Warrenmount Community Education Centre, 15-17 Mill Street, Warrenmount, Dublin 8

This project is focusing on the refurbishment of warrenmount convent on the presentation sisters site in the blackpitts, which is used as a community education center today. The client asked for a development on the existing function and facilities that would improve the experience and possibilities for future users while having a design that compliments the original features in the building. With the function of this building always having been a place of learning i decided to make this the center of the design approach and concept, bringing me to the term perpetual enlightenment. Perpetual enlightenment highlights how the religious aspects of the buildings design can be utilized to promote its education in the future while keeping true to its past. Religious symbolism being used to promote the function of a building was something i learned from my thesis and plan to keep at the core of this design.
